When one thinks of Taylor Swift, one likely doesn’t also think of Fireball Whisky. Unless you’re Craig Wiseman, the massively successful Nashville songwriter. If you’re Wiseman, Swift and Fireball go hand-in-hand.
During a writer’s round at the famed Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Swift recently popped in to sit with Wiseman for a few songs, but before the songs could be heard, Wiseman told one hell of a story about Fireball and the pop princess.
According to the Tennesseean, “Wiseman is a key player in the career of Florida Georgia Line. The duo name-dropped Fireball Whisky in its song “‘Round Here,” and the whiskey company supplied Wiseman’s publishing house with a surplus of their product. When Swift showed up at Wiseman’s CMT afterparty, he showed her the bar, the deejay and the wine. But, what she really wanted was access to the Fireball Whisky shot room.”
From there Wiseman shared, “I got her a shot of Fireball, and then I got her another one. For the rest of the party, I would go get a shot of Fireball … and snake my hand through the people (on this balcony) in her general direction. I don’t even know if she took it, but it disappeared.”
Also, Swift and pal Ed Sheeran took home a giant inflatable bottle of Fireball Whisky the company sent to Wiseman.
To return the embarrassing story, Swift shared about the time she wanted Wiseman to help co-write the massively successful, “Love Story” with her, but he wasn’t into it, “This is the song I almost wrote with Craig Wiseman…”
The two did actually play their songs, too.
