Not every artist can do it, but Thomas Rhett is one of the country stars that takes his family along with him on tour every chance he gets, even when it means heading out of the country. So, when T-Rhett headed down under, wife Lauren and daughters Willa Gray and Ada James also got stamps in their passport. And they got to meet some of Australia’s most cuddly critters, too.
Lauren shared a photo album on her Instagram page of the family’s visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary near Brisbane where the girls got to get feed and pet some of Australia’s most famous indigenous animals—kangaroos and koala bears.
Willa seemed extremely comfortable letting the small kangas snack from her hand and cradling a fuzzy bear on her lap, but Ada didn’t seem as thrilled with the opportunity. In the album’s caption, though, Lauren assures us that both of the girls had a blast.
She writes, “Made some new friends down under today! Ada James liked the animals more than the pictures seem— and Willa Gray was as comfortable with them as she looks. They’re both little animal lovers!”
As adorable as the pictures are of the girls with the critters, it’s the last photo in the album of the pair hugging each other that will really melt your heart.
The family is enjoying a little downtime down under before Thomas’ show in Melbourne on March 20. From there, they head to back to the states though, where he’ll perform on March 23 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
