There are a lot of honors that can be bestowed upon country artists—ACM, CMA, Grammy and songwriter awards, Opry and Hall of Fame membership, sold-out tours, gold and platinum albums, the list is long and impressive. But there’s something especially significant to appearing on…Sesame Street. Just ask Thomas Rhett who is responsible for the show’s 50th Anniversary season theme song.

Thomas shared the big news on his Instagram page with a snippet of the video created for the show’s 50th anniversary. He writes, “So cool to be a part of @sesamestreet ’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration. Here’s to 50 years of laughs, lessons, and friends #ThisIsMyStreet .”

The video was shot in December when, as previously reported, T-Rhett took his entire family to visit Sesame Street where daughters Willa and Ada were able to meet Big Bird, Elmo, Ernie, Bert, Oscar, Grover, Abi and the rest of the gang.

Thomas, who recently performed at pal Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa event, has a little more time off of the road before he heads to Australia and Canada for a run of shows. On May 17, he launches his Very Hot Summer Tour in Spokane, Washington with his buddies Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson, and his proud and talented dad, Rhett Akins.

As the tour’s name insinuates, it continues through the hot summer and is currently set to wrap on October 12 back in Nashville.
