When it comes to real life fairy tales, adults may be skeptical…unless they’re fans of Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren. The couple, who shares much of the reality of their lives on social media, has given young women and men everywhere #RelationshipGoals and Thomas Rhett has occasionally given us a glimpse of the romantic man he is through his music.
In his newest single, “Look What God Gave Her,” he revisits that theme with an upbeat groove. In a release about his new music, the country star says, “I think I played this song 2,000 times in a month after we first wrote it. It makes me want to dance. It makes me want to move. And to me, the song really is a celebration of how awesome my wife is. I know I’ve done that in the past, but I’ve never really done it in an uptempo way.”
With the exception of “Die a Happy Man,” it seems that the perpetually upbeat singer-songwriter has really released a few tunes in homage to his beautiful bride that makes us tap our toes. However, “Look What God Gave Her” does have a thicker, juicy arrangement, and T-Rhett’s vocal has a decidedly more mature swagger that gives the song a smokey vibe.
“Look What God Gave Her,” which Thomas Rhett co-wrote with his dad, Rhett Akins, Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, and J. Cash, is the first single from his upcoming fourth studio album, Center Point Road, which is set to drop on May 31.
Look for T-Rhett to perform his new release when he appears on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on March 2. Or catch him on the “Very Hot Summer Tour” starting in May. A complete list of tour dates is available on his website. And, one more thing, be on the lookout for a new music video for “Look What God Gave Her.”
