Making his “SNL” debut on March 2, the beloved singer-songwriter was introduced by special guest host John Mulaney then, with wife Lauren in the audience, he launched into his newest single, “Look What God Gave Her.” And if he was nervous at all, it sure didn’t show. T-Rhett was casual, energetic, and captivating.

For his second performance, Thomas revealed a new song from his upcoming album. Ripping through “Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time” with the spark of a zillion bottle rockets, TR included a sizzling horn section and a pair of soulful background singers who matched his energy watt for watt.

Both “Look What God Gave Her” and “Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time,” which features Little Big Town, are songs from Thomas Rhett’s fourth studio album, Center Point Road. Slated for a May 31 release, fans can expect to hear new music as part of his setlist on the “Very Hot Summer Tour” with Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson, and his famous dad, Rhett Akins.
