Tim McGraw and Big and Rich, have teamed up for a new collaboration all about a girl in love with a place far, far away from Nashville. The John Rich-written tune,  “California,” will be featured on McGraw’s upcoming album, Damn Country Music, due out November 6. But, it wasn’t that easy for McGraw to get the track on the album, apparently it took more than one phone call to Rich.

The legendary country music duo is also featured on the track, where their background harmonies fade into McGraw’s perfectly– almost like the weather in California.

The upbeat track talks about a girl and her love for California. Tim doesn’t seem to be too fond of that. He spends much of the song comparing and contrasting the west coast with what we assume to be his hometown. It seems like he’s trying to convince this girl that the west coast isn’t the place for her to be.

She’s in love with California,

That west coast, sunshine dream.

These ain’t no Hollywoods,

And these hills ain’t Beverly.

And no beaches on these backroads,

No sunset on the boulevard.

She’s in love with California,

And breakin’ my heart.

Damn Country Music is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
