If you haven’t seen the police lip sync challenge, where police departments are creating videos of officers lip-syncing their favorite songs, you may be living under a rock. Many of the videos have gone viral in recent weeks.
The Smithville Police Department in Tennessee went one step further with their video and added some star power by inviting country legends and Smithville residents Aaron Tippin and John Anderson to partake in the lip sync challenge.
In the video, Aaron and the offices lip-sync to his 1992 hit, “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio,” while John has the officers join him on his 1983 hit, “Swingin.”
“It was such a thrill to be asked to be in the Smithville Police Department’s video,” Aaron said. “We had a blast filming it. We love our law enforcement and appreciate them so much. I’m ready to do a sequel!”
“Smithville has been my home for the past 35 years, and some of these officers are 2nd and 3rd generation now,” adds John. “They do so much and don’t often get recognized for their hard work and commitment to our community. I was proud to help out and hold up traffic on their behalf.”
