The ACM Honors are one of those secrets that Nashvillians have kept to themselves for nearly a decade.

The show highlights the off-camera and special award winners from the ACM Awards.

Until now, they’ve taken place every fall at the historic Ryman Auditorium with a small — mostly industry — audience. This year, for the first time, the ACM Honors will air on CBS. However, they were taped in Nashville and I was in the audience to grab all the reasons you’ll want to tune in.

Jason Aldean was on hand to accept the ACM Triple Crown Award and perform and as he accepted his statue, he looked at it and said it was cooler than the “normal ones” because it was “bedazzled a bit.”

In a video intro for Keith Urban’s ACM Mae Boren Axton Award, Reba was taken aback by the Aussie saying, “The way he plays that guitar is absolutely … whoo!”

I should mention that all of the performances were amazing. I chose these seven because I could find something on social media to make this story more engaging. Here are seven of the many reasons you should tune in to the ACM Honors telecast:

1. Alicia Keys and Cam Singing “Girl Crush”
