Alan Jackson Releases Statement Regarding Son-in-Law’s Passing

-

Alan Jackson is sharing his thanks with family and fans after the passing of his son-in-law Ben Selecman in September.

Ben, who married Alan’s daughter Mattie in 2017,  passed away from injuries sustained during an accident in Jupiter, Florida. Ben suffered traumatic head injuries in a fall while helping a woman onto a boat, according to information released by the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office, where Ben was an Asst. District Attorney.

After taking time to be with family, Alan has taken to social media to thank friends and fans for the outpouring of support during the difficult time for the family. Alan also shared a couple of photos of him sending time with his son-in-law.

“It’s with grateful hearts that Denise and I want to thank our friends and fans for the outpouring of love and prayers during the hospitalization and ultimate passing of our son in law, Ben Selecman,” Alan wrote. “Ben was a southern boy who loved hunting and fishing and just being outdoors. His childlike enthusiasm for each new day was contagious to everyone around him. He was the godly young man that Denise had always prayed for for Mattie. Ben, rest in peace until we see you again.”

Our hearts remain with Alan and his family during this sad time.
