In a bold move with only two actual singing shows left, Miley Cyrus entrusted Ali Caldwell with the ultimate ballad, “I Will Always Love You.”

Explaining to Caldwell that Dolly Parton wrote the song, Whitney Houston just made it her own, Caldwell felt the weight of the song, but ultimately delivered. Sometimes, when singing this song delivering simply means not butchering it, but Caldwell did more than that– she stayed within her range and capabilities while still hitting key runs and notes.

Her ending was fantastic. Both Parton and Houston would agree. Cyrus sure did.
