In 2001 MercyMe released the only Christian single to date to reach over 2 million digital downloads. That number is going to grow exponentially after the world hears Aliyah Moulden‘s version from her semi-finals performance on “The Voice.”

During rehearsals coach Blake Shelton told Aliyah he cried during her performance last week and that’s why he give her “I Can Only Imagine.” Blake thinks she’s dropped her bad habits and that she makes every song sound like her own.

I’ll say, it’s hard to make a worship tune that’s been played a billion times on any given Sunday, but Aliyah did it.
