There is probably no better man to write and sing a song like “Female” than Keith Urban. It is good and necessary that men speak up about the way women are treated. But the song was given more power, more impact, when a group of fifteen female artist joined together to cover it.
The female chorus known as the Song Suffragettes, took turns singing the lyrics and chorus before joining together for the final chorus. The cover lives up to the expectation of Urban’s song as a female empowerment anthem. While it isn’t a song you are likely to sing with the windows rolled down, it is a powerful song that came to the fore at the right time.
