These days, a song is a song is a song. There are no genres. Especially if you’re Florida Georgia Line and especially if you teamed up with Bebe Rexha for “Meant To Be,” a song poised to become one of the biggest songs in modern country music history.

Just this week, the tune entered the Top 10 of Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart and it is spending its 15th week a No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, which means it is still the most time at No. 1 for a song with female lead vocals in the chart’s 59-year history. And no, Bebe Rexha is not a country artist. As she puts it, “’m not claiming to be country. FGL and I wrote a song that people are connecting to. Music is about pushing boundaries. I’m proud of it.”

So, there you have it– a song is a song is a song.
