Blake Shelton Has His Very Own Hallmark Christmas Movie That’s a Must-See This Season

-

When you take the Hallmark channel and add in a bit of Blake Shelton, what do you get? You get Hallmark’s latest Christmas smash, “Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas.”

The movie, which Hallmark calls the biggest holiday event of the season, stars Josh Henderson and Megan Park, as Heath and Cara. According to Hallmark’s website, Cara faces a bittersweet Christmas since her mother’s passing. Flying to Oklahoma, she meets country singer Heath (think Blake Shelton), facing a tough holiday too since his father’s death. Cara and Heath share their losses, and as they head toward their separate Christmases, they grow close. But when Cara sees a tabloid linking Heath with a model, and he unwittingly offends her dad by offering financial help, it looks like it might take a Christmas miracle for this couple to find harmony.

Uh-Oh!

Blake can now add executive producer to his long list of credits as he is at the helm of this family-friendly movie. The new film was inspired by the song, “Time for Me to Come Home,” which Blake wrote with his mom, Dorothy Shackleford, in 2012 and later inspired a book of the same name. The song is featured on Blake’s 2012 Christmas album, Cheers, It’s Christmas.

“Blake was writing the song for his Christmas album and said he needed help with the second verse,” Dorothy told CountryLiving.com. “So I came up with the second verse and that’s how the song was born.”

“Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas premiered December 9, but if you missed it, fear not. The movie will repeat on Hallmark on Dec 10 at 5pm, Dec. 12 at 9 pm and Dec. 14 at 11pm. Check Hallmark mysteries and movies website for more show times.
