Blake Shelton recently celebrated the opening of his Ole Red bar and restaurant in Tishomingo, Oklahoma with Gwen Stefani by his side. While there, he sat down with “Entertainment Tonight” to discuss Gwen, her family, his family and fatherhood.
“It’s been a lot of fun for me to be the one to get to expose them to this — out in the country. They love it so much, her entire family. And when I say her family, I mean all of them. I’m talking about the kids, the mom, the dad, the brother. There’s times when we’ve had holiday gatherings, and I’m talking about 30-plus family members from her side, from my side. We have so much fun. I don’t think you should be able to have that much fun. It’s probably not legal in California.”
ET also got right up in there and asked if Gwen’s kids have made Blake think about having his own kids soon.
“The Voice, I think, sparked that in me, if anything. I never thought in a million years when I signed on to do that show that I would ever be so defensive when it comes to reading a blog or critique about one of my artists. [In the] first season or two, I couldn’t help it. I would just lose my mind when I would see someone picking on a kid, you know.”
Of course, he didn’t say if he and Gwen had discussed having children.
Blake’s latest single, “I’ll Name The Dogs” definitely has fans talking as he sings:
You find the spot and I’ll find the money
You be the pretty and I’ll be the funny
You plant the flowers, I’ll plant the kisses
Baby, let’s get right down to business
I’ll hang the pictures, you hang the stars
You pick the paint, I’ll pick a guitar
Sing you a song out there with the crickets and the frogs
You name the babies and I’ll name the dogs, yeah
They definitely have the spot and the money, so only time will tell at this point.
