Thanks to competition reality show “The Voice,” which Blake Shelton is a coach, the 41-year-old country singer met his current girlfriend, pop star Gwen Stefani, who also coached on the show. At the time, both Blake and Gwen were going through divorces from their respective spouses—Blake from Miranda Lambert and Gwen from Gavin Rossdale.

The meeting, as Blake put it when he stopped by “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist,” was a “miracle” for the Oklahoma native, which helped him get through the devastation of his divorce.

“When I was going through my divorce and hit rock bottom, just like anybody does when they go through something that devastating—it’s a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same exact thing that I was at the exact same moment in time,” Blake revealed to Willie.

“I think if Gwen and I were being honest right now, I think in the back of our mind, we both kind of thought, this is a rebound deal,” Blake added. “Because we’re both coming out of a pretty low spot in our lives and we’re kind of clinging to each other to get through this. But now here we are going on three years later and every day that goes by it just feels like a stronger bond between the two of us. It constantly feels like it’s going to the next level.”

Could the next level be marriage? Only time will tell. But the couple seems to be getting along better than ever and sharing their good times with fans on social media.

Blake just celebrated his 42nd Birthday with Gwen and her children at his Oklahoma home in Tishomingo. Where Gwen took to social media to thank Blake for a wonderful time. “Blake Shelton, thank you for sharing your world,” she said.

You can catch Blake’s full interview this Sunday (June 24) on “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist.”
