Chuck Berry was about as important to rock and roll guitar playing as anyone. He was equal parts influential and innovative, helping to popularize the genre in its infancy. If there were a Mt. Rushmore of rock guitarists, Chuck Berry would be the George Washington.
So, it’s only fitting that one of country music’s most skilled guitar virtuosos honored Chuck Berry by covering his most famous song “Johnny B. Goode.” Everyone knows Brad Paisley can play, but it was certainly a fitting tribute to the legend. Not to mention that it’s fun to hear musicians play outside their genre once in awhile. Paisley is welcome to play rock any time he wants.
