This weekend the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 and Brantley says, “It’s pretty nuts, right? We know a fella named Scott Borchetta that can pull some crazy things off. I mean, hell, I’d have been happy with tickets but he put some ideas together and said he was gonna work on some stuff. I figured we’d may be able to play a song or attend a race like we have in the past and he came back with this and I was just blown away.”
Brantley, who is a long-time Earnhardt family fan and is hoping Earnhardt Jr. can take home a win this weekend, is proud to have his name on one of NASCAR’s crown jewels, and it seems his friends and family are pretty impressed too. He laughs and says, “I’ve got friends calling me going, ‘Hey man, your name’s on the race. How does that even work?’ It’s pretty neat and I’m more than stoked.”
Brantley, who just released his brand new single, “The Ones That Like Me,” explains that the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 will be extra special for another reason. He says, “My mom’s side of the family’s from Indiana and my (late) grandfather just loved NASCAR and loved the Brickyard and so this one, in my heart, is kind of for him.
