The calendar may say that the end of summer is drawing near, but Brett Eldredge and Meghan Trainor are making sure it goes out with a blast of heat when they join forces for CMT’s “Crossroads” on Sept. 3.
The pair, who previously collaborated on “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” for Brett’s Christmas album, were big fans of each other before they ever recorded together. In a release, Brett says, “I just love Meghan’s sound – she’s got a funky, swag thing to her music that no one else is doing. She’s one-of-a-kind and I’m excited to perform with her again, this time on ‘Crossroads.’” And Meghan seems to share the same feelings that a lot of Brett’s fans have. “He’s a superstar and I was star struck during the whole performance.”
We get it, Meghan!
So, what can fans expect from the newest episode in the hit CMT series? According to Brett, “We’re going to make everybody feel alive. We’re going to make them feel it in their hearts and their souls. We’re going to bring big vocals and magic moments.”
Sounds good to us!
The show was taped earlier this year and includes performances of Meghan’s hit singles, “All About That Bass,” “No Excuses,” and her current smash, “Let You Be Right.” Songs from Brett’s catalog include “Drunk On Your Love,” “Wanna Be That Song” and “Haven’t Met You.” The two will also perform “Islands in the Stream” together.
Hopefully, Brett and Meghan found some time to do a little songwriting during taping. The sassy blonde was part of the writing team behind Lauren Alaina’s “Road Less Traveled” and Rascal Flatts “I Like the Sound of That.”
“Crossroads” airs on CMT Sept. 3 at 10pm ET.
