Brett Young’s Emotional Performance of “Mercy” Is The Hug We All Need

Brett Young took to the “Good Morning America” set Monday morning (April 23) for a live performance of his current single “Mercy.”

The 6’6″ singer is out promoting his current single. The ballad, which asks for mercy when having your heart broken, is Brett’s fourth single from his debut album. It follows his three previous No. 1 hits, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Sleep Without You,” and “Like I Loved You.”

Lyric like, “So if you’re gonna break my heart, just break it, And if you’re gonna take your shot, then take it, take it. If you made up your mind, then make it. But make this fast. If you ever loved me. Have mercy,” will tug at the heartstrings.

Brett’s performance was so powerful that host Robin Roberts felt compelled to share her encounter with the country star. “What a blessing to walk into work and hear @brettyoungmusicrehearsing for his appearance this morn on @goodmorningamerica #Mercy#mondaymotivation,” she wrote on Instagram.

That’s quite an endorsement for the California native. Brett is currently out on the road as part of Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes Tour.
