Thanks to the generosity of the country music artists and fans who attended this year’s CMA Music Festival, the CMA Foundation was able to make its annual donation for music education.

This year, they were able to grant 44 charitable groups with a record-breaking $3.1 million. This means that, since 2006, CMA has donated more than $17.5 million to this important cause.

“If it weren’t for the artists, who all perform for free during CMA Music Festival, and the thousands of fans who support the event each year, these donations would not be possible,” Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer said in a press release. “The CMA Foundation donates to causes that are important to our community, but every dollar is given on behalf of the artists and fans that support Music Fest each June.”

The programs were announced through a “Mannequin Challenge” video posted on the CMA Facebook page. Along with the CMA staff, country music artist Cam was featured in the clip.
