It was a dream come true for Cam, when she teamed up with the legendary Smokey Robinson for an episode of CMT Crossroads.
The two joined forces singing each others hits, including Cam’s “Burning House” and current single “Diane,” as well as Smokey’s “Tears of a Clown” and “I Second That Emotion.”
“Pinching myself right now. I’m taping CMT Crossroads today with the one and only Smokey Robinson!!!!,” Cam wrote in an Instagram post. “What an absolutely fulfilling moment to meet someone I have admired so long through my speakers, and then have him outshine my (very high) expectations, both as a talent and as a human being. Singing with him tonight will forever be a highlight in my life.”
CMT has paired many unlikely duos for their Crossroads show including Kid Rock and Hank Williams, Jr.; Ray Charles and Travis Tritt; Dave Matthews and Emmylou Harris; Bon Jovi and Sugarland; Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire; Def Leppard and Taylor Swift and more.
CMT Crossroads with Cam and Smokey Robinson airs Wednesday, March 28 at 10/9c on CMT
