Carly Pearce’s Duet with Deana Carter on “Strawberry Wine” is a Dream Come True

-

Carly Pearce is seeing her dreams come one day at a time. The 28-year-old singer not only got to to the top of the charts with her debut single, “Every Little Thing,” and earned her first award at the CMT Music Awards but she is now sharing the stage with one of her idols, Deana Carter.

Carly and Deana took part in ’90s country tribute concert at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works and CMT captured the collaboration. During the show the two ladies took it back to 1996 and performed Deana’s massive hit, “Strawberry Wine.”

“I cover ‘Strawberry Wine’ in a lot of my shows, but the experience of standing next to Deana … chills,” recalls Carly. “She has one of those honest, encompassing voices that you really feel in your core. I’m honored we could perform together!”

“After 20 years of this career-making song continuing to impact listeners, being able to sing it with someone like Carly was such a joy,” shared Carter. “I love watching new talents grow, and the emotive way she connects with this coming of age song was really special.”

The show also features Brothers Osborne, Tracy Lawrence, Easton Corbin, Lucie Silvas, Doug Stone, Travis Denning, Darryl Worley and Shenandoah alongside newcomer Adam Sanders, who created the themed events in 2017.

Carly took to Instagram to share a preview of the show, captioning it with note to herself.

“Hey Carly, one day you’re going to get to live out your country music dreams & as an added bonus, you’ll get to sing a song that influenced the artist you are with one of your heroes… just wait. ❤️ ”

You can catch the duet and more when it airs on CMT Hot 20 Countdown  on Saturday (Aug.4) and Sunday (Aug. 5) morning at 9/8c. Proceeds from the show benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
