Carolyn Dawn Johnson is one of Nashville’s most sought after songwriters, but she’s also had a successful career as an artist.
In 2001, she had two top 10 hits with “Complicated” and “I Don’t Want You to Go,” which each focus on the feelings that come on early in a relationship.
Now, she’s taking on one of country music’s most iconic songs, Martina McBride’s “Independence Day,” which chronicles the very bitter end of a relationship.
