In light of Veterans Day, country music icon Carrie Underwood decided to honor our troops and their families by holding a private concert aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s biggest ship, the Carnival Vista.

Before the celebration, Carrie sat down with Fox News to talk about what giving back means to her.

“Carnival Cruise Line has been working with Operation Homefront for a while now and they do such a good job of honoring our military families,” she said. “They asked if I and my Storyteller tour might be interested in joining and getting to honor them in a whole different kind of way. We did have a lot of families come out and see us on the road, I got to meet a lot of them.”

During the interview, Carrie also shared some of her travel tips and talked about who she most loves to travel with — her husband. The 33-year-old singer’s love for family and travel helps her further appreciate our troops, their sacrifice and the gift she gets to give them through music.
