Carrie Underwood is now a Hollywood star. The Oklahoma native officially put her name in cement when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday afternoon (Sept. 20).

Decked out in a long red coat and black dress, Carrie was surrounded by family and friends including, husband Mike Fisher, 3-year-old son Isaiah, Simon Cowell and Brad Paisley. Brad and Simon both took to the podium to share glowing words about the country star.

“Carrie Underwood, is in many ways, this generation’s Dolly Parton as Ms. Country Music. I don’t think we could ask for a better ambassador,” Brad said. “I don’t think there’s anything she can’t do.

“This is the best of country music in concrete,” Brad added. “I can’t wait to see everything you do from here. I think of the artists that’ll be in here at Capitol Records that are going to walk out here one night drunk and throw up on the star of one of the most important artists we will ever have in our format.”

Then it was Carrie’s turn to say a few words. After incredible successes throughout her 13-year career, which began when she won Season 4 of “American Idol”, Carrie tearfully thanked her supporters for her blessed life.

“How is this my life? How does a girl from Checotah, Oklahoma, end up with a star on the Walk of Fame? I will tell you how: belief. I have been so blessed in my life to have so many people, crap I’m crying. So many people who have believed in me. I was so blessed to be born into an incredible family who is here today,” she said through tears before recalling memories of growing up in Checotah.

“As I got a little older and reality set in, you just don’t know, ‘How is this possible?’ How does anything like this actually happen to a girl like me. So I try out for American Idol and there was belief there. And I had judges who believed in me from the beginning and people voting for me that believed in me the whole way through,” she said before turning the spotlight on her manager Ann Edelblute and her husband Mike Fisher.

“Then I met an incredible man, Mike, who thinks I’m so much better than I actually am in every way. Thank you for believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom, and supporting me through all of this,” Carrie said. “He believes in me and we had another little man who believes in me too. Isaiah Michael, I love you so much. You’re the best thing we ever did. The best thing. I love you and I’m proud of you and I believe in you too.  So thank you to all the people that I work with—all my family at Capitol. It’s so cool that I have a star outside of Capitol. I think my mascara’s running.  This is absolutely amazing and a dream come true.”

Congratulations Carrie!
