Deer hunting season is officially here and Carrie Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, has marked the occasion with a brand new song called “Before She Bleats.” Taking a cue from Carrie’s 2006 chart topper “Before He Cheats,” Mike changed the words to fit the season.

The parody song was posted in its entirety on Catchin’ Deers Facebook page complete with a music video featuring the retired Nashville Predators center as he gears up for a day of hunting with some friends. The song itself follows a hunter who is tracking a buck. Finding his perfect spot hidden in a tree, he gets a shot after he hears a bleat.

“Well there he was right on her trail / So I settled on a shoulder and I let her sail / Maybe next time she’ll think before she bleats,” he belts on the song’s chorus.

The former hockey player turned country parody singer shows off his powerful pipes on the track, no doubt a testament to living with Carrie. While the song won’t win him any Grammys, it surely provides plenty of laughs to deer hunting aficionados and Carrie Underwood fans.

“I’d like to thank all the people that helped make this dream come true,” Mike captions a clip on Instagram. “It’s been a long time coming but excited to share my heart and soul through this song. Hope you guys enjoy.”

There’s been no official review from Carrie yet. Perhaps she’ll allow Mike to make a cameo during her 2019 Cry Pretty 360 Tour to sing the song live?
