Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood were the biggest winners of the night during the 2017 CMT Music Awards. Not only did Keith walk away with four awards and Carrie with two, they also delivered one hell of a performance of their current single and duet, “The Fighter.”

For several weeks, leading up to the show, Keith promised more than once that he was working on a new arrangement for the song that would surprise fans and he delivered– big time.

The album version of “The Fighter” is basically country-disco, this version featured a steel guitar, a fiddle and two of country music’s most iconic voices putting on one hell of a performance.

Carrie’s last note was not human, which line up perfectly with Keith’s guitar playing skills.

The video for “The Fighter” took home the award for Collaborative Video of the Year.
