Carrie Underwood to Be Inducted Into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

Carrie Underwood one of the 2017 honorees of the Oklahoma hall of Fame. Toby Keith, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton are a few of the past inductees.

The native of Checotah, Okla., will be inducted as part of the 90th class on Nov. 16 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

“I’ve always been proud to say I’m from Oklahoma,” Carrie said. “The people, culture, and environment molded me into the person I am today. It’s such an honor to be recognized among such great company by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame!”

Vince Gill and Kristin Chenoweth, past inductees of the Hall of Fame, will emcee the induction ceremony.

Other 2017 honorees include Justice Tom Colbert, Sapulpa; Congressman Tom Cole, Moore; Bob Funk, Piedmont; Shannon Miller, Edmond; Phil Parduhn, Edmond; Hal Smith, Ardmore; and Carrie Underwood, Checotah. Those individuals who will be honored posthumously are Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher, Chickasha; and Sequoyah, the Cherokee Nation I.T.

In addition to the induction ceremony, honorees will have their portraits hung at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
