Carrie Underwood Reveals Details of Fall and Why She Spoke Out

-

Carrie Underwood is currently on a media blitz to promote her new album, Cry Pretty. While hitting the talk show circuit, Carrie stopped by the “Ellen” show to chat about her latest project.

After talking about her music, Ellen asked Carrie about the fall she took in 2017. While it my be old news to some, Ellen says she had no idea what had happened because she doesn’t read magazines. Carrie was more than happy to explain the incident and why she decided to talk about it to her fans.

“My biggest worry at the time was that if I say nothing, then later on I feel like people are going to—because people pick apart, I mean you know what that’s like being under a microscope—I feel like people are kind of going to say, ‘what has she done to herself, electively,” she said. “It definitely was not a choice. I feel close to myself. I feel pretty close to normal.”

In November 2017, Carrie took a nasty fall in front of her house breaking her wrist. She later came out to reveal that she had injured her face and had to get 40-50 stitches.

“I kind of fell up steps,” she told Ellen. “I went to catch myself and I barely missed the step and kind of jammed my hand in there and hit my face.”

She went on to reveal how she got help.

“My son was asleep upstairs,” Carrie said. “I went inside and I didn’t realize how bad it was. I feel like anytime anything happens, it’s adrenaline or something. You don’t really know until you take a second to assess. I just have great people around me so I had somebody come pick me up and take me.”

Carrie’s Cry Pretty album is available now. The Grammy winning artist is pregnant with her second child and will hitting the road in 2019 for her Cry Pretty Tour 360 with Runaway June and Maddie & Tae.
