Carrie Underwood Returns For New Season of “Sunday Night Football”

Carrie Underwood will be lending her vocal talent to the 2018-2019 Sunday Night Football season. For the sixth year, the “Cry Pretty” singer is the vocalist selected to sing the Sunday Night Football open.

Thanks to an Instagram post from SNF executive producer Fred Gaudelli, country fans can get a glimpse of the upcoming performance. Carrie, dressed in a tight fitting leather ensemble, shows off her legs in the shot. Her long blonde locks are back and behind her appears to be several backup dancers while fireworks are set ablaze beside them.

Meanwhile, the SNF official Twitter account also showcased two photos from the shoot. The aforementioned shot is included as well as another where Carrie walks towards the camera in leather pants.

“We’re filming with our good friend @carrieunderwood in LA this week for this season’s #SNF open!” they write. “Who’s ready for Sunday Night to be Football Night again?!”

Retired football coach Tony Dungy admits that he’s now fired up thanks to Carrie’s return. “That gets me fired up. It means we have to start getting ready for Football Night In America too,” he shares on Twitter.

Carrie shows no sign of slowing down as after she finishes the SNF shoot she heads to the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, Calif., for the Radio Disney Awards. There, the country star will will perform her song “The Champion” with Ludacris for the very first time. Additionally, she’ll accept the Hero Award in recognition of her generosity, humanitarian efforts and dedication to supporting numerous charities. The sixth annual show will be broadcast on June 23 between 8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel.

Carrie’s upcoming album, Cry Pretty, will be released on Sept. 14. It marks her first release with Capitol Records Nashville.
