At first glance, Lawrence Young’s Chevy Silverado truck may seem a little overboard. Because even at first glance you’ll notice that almost every inch of it is covered in photos of Carrie Underwood.
The 2017 Silverado is Lawrence’s dream truck and a bit of a dedication to his late wife, Kathi.
In 2010, Kathi underwent surgery and woke up with brain damage so severe she was bedridden with limited capacity to communicate. As Lawrence spent his last few days with Kathi the couple often listen to Carrie’s music. And Lawrence shared with The Blast that one of her final requests was, “When she died, she told me, ‘Stick with Carrie’s music and it will help you through life.'”
And that’s what’s he’s doing.
Lawrence thought wrapping the truck was the perfect way to pay tribute to his two favorite ladies. And his son even designed it for him.
Lawrence shared that it cost about $2,000 and 10 days to complete the project and that he’s been offered upwards of $150,000 for it.
But, ultimately, Lawrence shared, “I didn’t do this for money or attention. I did this as a tribute to Carrie and my wife. My dream is to have Carrie see it in person and autograph the hood.”
Lawrence lives in Kansas and his favorite song of Carrie’s is “Church Bells.”
