Once again, our nation has been struck with tragedy. 12 people were killed and at least a dozen more were injured after a lone gunman entered the country music bar, Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California during “college night.”
Country artists and celebrities have once again taken to social media to express their condolences and heartbreak over the tragedy.
So sad about the tragedy in Thousand Oaks. So many of my friends & I have frequented that bar . We live in a world where devastation like this can happen anywhere/anytime. I’m so sorry to the victims & everyone involved. And I’m so sorry pain like this occurs 💔

Waking up in NYC to the terrible news in California that 12 were killed in a country bar last night. 1 officer killed in the line of duty as he ran toward the shooter to save lives. Join me in asking the Holy Spirit to pull those families close this morning. #Californiashooting

We humans have turned to zombies when horrors no longer horrify us, prayers no longer move us from knees to feet & needs no longer move us from greeds to selfless giving. When our sides outclass the sufferings of our fellow humans we are the horror: the church of the living dead.

This is Ventura County Sherrif’s Sgt. Ron Helus, killed as he responded to stop the mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA. He was a 29-year vet nearing retirement, a husband, and a father.
“He died a hero. He went in to save other people.” RIP. pic.twitter.com/yUGTCYwnei

12 killed, including the ‘good guy with a gun’, plus survivors of Las Vegas shooting. We can’t go on like this. I don’t want to hear about thoughts and prayers. I want #GunControlNow https://t.co/87edYxwjho

Another Blue Knight was lost last night. He died in the act of protecting and serving, as so many of his brothers and sisters have before him.
Sgt. Ron Helus, you died saving lives
There is no higher calling
Rest In Peace
Sincere condolences to the family and coworkers

Last night we were going to go line dancing at 9:30 PM at a bar called Borderline we heard about in Thousand Oaks… an hour before we were to leave, I got home and Laney’s eye was swollen shut so we didn’t go. Thinking of everyone affected by this today. Truly unbelievable.
