Charlie Daniels is one of the most beloved country music artists of all-time. His contributions to the genre have allowed him membership into the Grand Ole Opry, Musicians Hall of Fame and most recently, a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Daniels is best known for his hit, “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” but he also played for the Marshall Tucker Band and Hank Williams Jr. Plus, in his early days he was a Nashville session player for Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.

Recently, we caught up with Daniels to discuss his historic career and decided, things might’ve been different for him if he tried to take the stage as Chuck instead of Charlie.
