Chris Janson braved the bomb cyclone that hit New York and most of the Northeast, when he performed on “Megyn Kelly Today” Friday morning (Jan. 5).

Chris joined the show to perform his current single, “Drunk Girl,” co-written by Chris, Tom Douglas and Scooter Carusoe, essentially about taking care of a drunk girl instead of taking advantage of her—”That’s how she knows the difference between a boy and man.” The song, which is the second single from Chris’ sophomore album, Everybody, has a positive message toward women that needs to be heard in today’s culture.

“I’m a father and a husband,” Chris said. “I wrote this song with two of my best friends, Tom Douglas and Scoter Carusoe, we’re all fathers. We sat down around a piano and this is how we write—we think of stuff to come up with, but being dads, having daughters each of us, we thought what’s a good message that’s just good information. In my opinion, you can’t have enough good information.”

After being cut off by Megyn, Chris then said, “the song speaks for itself,” and it does. Chris headed to his piano to perform a passionate version of “Drunk Girl.”

“She’s bouncing like a pinball / Singing every word she never knew / Dancing with her eyes closed like she’s the only one in the room / Her hair’s a perfect mess, falling out of that dress / Take a drunk girl home/ Take a drunk girl home / Let her sleep all alone
Leave her keys on the counter, your number by the phone / Pick up her life she threw on the floor / Leave the hall lights on walk out and lock the door / That’s how she knows the difference between a boy and man/ Take a drunk girl home.”

Next stop for Chris is Somerset, Ky., where he will kick off his Everybody Tour on Jan. 11.
