Chris Stapleton paid a visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote his recently released album, From a Room: Vol. 2. With Kimmel taking time to spend with his family, actor Chris Pratt took the reins of the show.
The two Chris’ sat down to celebrate a couple of things Stapleton has going on, like the impending arrival of his twins and his newly released album. They also recalled the night they had a bit too much to drink while hanging out in Nashville. But it was when the two friends got together for a very interesting duet, that stole the show.
Because there was no time to rehearse, the duo had to leave the duet up to chance and spin the cheesy wheel of duets. Guillermo spun the wheel and whatever cheesy duet it landed on, the two Chris’ had to sing that song. The cheesy song options were, “Opposites Attract,” “Don’t Know Much,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” “Somewhere Out There,” and “A Whole New World.”
Lucky for us, the wheel landed on “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” from “Dirty Dancing.” You know that song at the end of the movie, where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey perform that magical lift? Yeah, that one.
Well, first and foremost, no offense to Chris Pratt, but Stapleton blew him out of the water with his insanely good vocals. But Pratt did give it the ole college try. They even added the lift to the end of their performance and it was just as magical as you remember in the movie.
