Chris Young was one of the 22,000 people in attendance at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. While the 32-year-old singer wasn’t performing on stage, he was in the crowd enjoying a night of country music just like anyone else that night.
Chris was backstage when the gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. As events unfolded, Chris took to twitter to share what was taking place. Since that night, Chris has not spoken publicly about his experience.
After hugging his family and coming to grips with everything that happened, the “I’m Comin’ Over” singer took to social media to address the heinous act that took place on Sunday night.
“People lost their lives, people were injured and I’m so heartbroken over that,” Chris said in the video. “Thoughts are with those families and everybody that’s having to go through that and deal with that, that should never happen at a concert.”
