With Chris Young about to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night (Oct. 17), the “I’m Comin’ Over” singer stopped by “Ty, Kelly, Chuck Mornings” to talk about his big night.
The morning show crew asked the most important question that is on everyone’s mind…”What are you gonna wear?,” asked co-host Chuck Wicks.
“I don’t know. That’s typical guy right,” Young said. “I’ve been the guy before on the red carpet where somebody asks me and I was like, I look at inside of my jacket before I could answer and I’m like, ‘I don’t know.’
Of course, Chris has a stylist to help him make these tough decisions.
“I saw an old photo of me earlier today when doing an interview and I realized I should have had [a stylist] for a long time. My mom’s got some real bad blackmail of me. I don’t know what I was thinking,” Young adds. “But I do. I have a stylist and we found a really, really cool jacket. I figured it’s for induction into the Opry, you should get a little dressed up. Not just the standard button down on stage.”
Chris was invited to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Country Music Hall of Fame and Opry member Vince Gill during his own Opry performance on Aug. 30. The formal induction ceremony will take place Tuesday, October 17, just days before the release of his 7th album, Losing Sleep.
