(Watch) Clay Walker Performs National Anthem Prior To Game 5 of the 2017 World Series

Clay Walker did his country proud Sunday night (Oct. 29) when he performed the national anthem prior to Game 5 of the 2017 World Series at Minute Maid Park between the Houston Astros and The Los Angeles Dodgers.

Walker had his son, William, stand at his side while doing the honors and belting out a passionate rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.”

“I’ve never been nervous singing as an entertainer,” Walker told the MLB prior to the game. “Singing our national anthem is the greatest song on earth. The honor the I feel for being even asked to sing it is—there are no words for it. Knowing what all our city has been through and knowing that we get a chance tonight to represent major league baseball on the biggest stage, to the world and just to be able to display our colors, our flag, our men and women, our armed forces that keep this country great—it’s my honor to stand there with hand over my heart, my hat in my hand along side my son William. He’ll have his hat in his hand, hand over his heart and we’ll be showing respect to our flag in the greatest nation.”

Walker, who hails from the great state of Texas, took the field dressed in an orange Astros Jersey—as did his son, showing their Texas pride. The 48-year-old singer seemed to have brought the Astros good luck, as they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 13-12 to take the lead in the series 3-2.

Game 5 in Houston…. Great night for an @astrosbaseball win!!
