Just ahead of the 52nd Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 14, the CMA is giving One Country readers an exclusive up-close and personal look at the New Artist of the Year nominees.
In case you haven’t already heard, the five artists vying for the CMA New Artist of the Year trophy are Lauren Alaina, Luke Combs, Chris Janson, Midland and Brett Young.
These five nominees are all a part of a docuseries the CMA will be releasing on Tuesday (Nov. 6). The five-part series gives a deeper look into who these up-and-coming country stars are, both professionally and personally
As far back as I can remember I was just born with my toes tapping,” Chris Janson says in the video. “Music was something that I just had naturally.”
“I never sat down and said I’m going to be a country singer,” adds Luke. “When I started writing music it just pushed me in this direction.”
The series features commentary from friends and family who know the artists best, while giving an inside look from the artists themselves, on how the last year has changed their lives.
“This happens to be exactly what I want to be doing,” Brett said. “It feels like music was what I was always supposed to do.”
“I feel like music chose me, I don’t really feel like I chose music,” adds Lauren. “I was born to sing and born to write songs.”
You can catch catch all five new artist profiles at cmawards.com on Tuesday (Nov. 6).
