Country Artists React To Mass Shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas


It’s only a little over a month since the horrific mass-shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival that took place in Las Vegas, and we find ourselves in the midst of yet another mass shooting. One that the news is calling one of the top 5 deadliest gun massacres in US history.

The latest tragic event took place Sunday morning (Nov. 5) at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. A lone gunman opened fire on the church with a semi-automatic rifle, killing at least 26 people and injuring over 20. As the shooter fled the church he was pursued by an armed resident, who shot at him. The car crashed and the gunman was found dead in his car.

According to ABC news, the shooter was identified as Devin Kelley, 26, of New Braunfels, Texas, 35 miles from Sutherland Springs.

Country artists took to social media to express their sorrow and offer prayers to the families of those lost in the tragic incident.
