It’s a brand new year full of opportunities, surprises and, perhaps best of all, new music! There are several upcoming country music albums that fans are looking forward to this next year. From old-school country to new-school country sounds, there is going to be something for everyone to listen to in 2014!

It’s a Musically Packed First Quarter

It’s January and it may be cold outside, but there will be plenty of new music to keep us all cheerful. Mary Chapin Carpenter is releasing a new album through New Rounder, entitled Songs From the Movie. Fans expect this lovely songstress to be at the top of her game with this new release, with higher ratings than 2012’s offering. Country giant — literally! — Ray Benson is coming out with his own record, A Little Piece, this January, and Toby Keith will be offering fans his Double Shot as early as February.

Old and New Country Stars Will be Shining

Johnny Cash fans are eagerly awaiting the March release of Out Among the Stars through Legacy Recordings. These songs were actually recorded in the early 1980s and shelved by Columbia Records. When the recordings were rediscovered in 2012 by the late musician’s son, Legacy jumped at the opportunity to release them. It’s great news for country fans everywhere! There is great news for Jo Dee Messina fans this year, as well, since her latest album, Me, is due out sometime in late winter or early spring. Her beautiful voice will make a fantastic spring soundtrack, no matter what the weather has in store for us. As for Brantley Gilbert, Ronnie Dunn and Dierks Bentley, they have promised country fans new albums sometime in 2014, but the dates aren’t set in stone yet. They’ll probably be surprising their fans later in the year. So, even if you’ve already failed on every single resolution you had for 2014, you can at least look forward to some new tunes from old favorites.
