Twenty years ago, Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart looked a different than it does today and really, not all that different.

For starters, multiple women were on the charts– Deana Carter, Reba McEntire, Terri Clark. Patty Loveless, Lorrie Morgan, Mindy McCready, Martina McBride, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Trisha Yearwood could all be heard on the radio. Maybe even on the same day.

Today, Kelsea Ballerini (rising) and Lauren Alaina (falling) have Top 10 singles. Maren Morris clocks in at No. 38.

One thing that hasn’t changed is that Kenny Chesney and a duet from Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were coming in hot 20 years ago and they still are today too. How is that even possible? Hard to believe some of these artists have been cranking out hits for multiple decades now.
