Stars of every generation and variation of country music came out to honor an icon at the Life and Songs of Kris Kristofferson tribute concert. The singer, songwriter and actor sat on the side of the stage as a long list of singers performed his songs.

Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Ryan Bingham, Rosanne Cash, Eric Church, Emmylou Harris, Jack Ingram, Jamey Johnson, Toby Keith, Martina McBride,Willie Nelson, Jennifer Nettles, Darius Rucker, Hank Williams Jr., Lee Ann Womack, Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss, Buddy Miller, Larry Gatlin, Jessi Colter and Shooter Jennings were all on hand for the star studded affair.

On the red carpet, numerous attendees discussed their appreciation and admiration for the legend, as well as their nervousness to sing his songs to him.

Jennifer Nettles earned the first standing ovation of the night with her rendition of “Worth Fighting For.” Lady Antebellum took the stage to perform “Help Me Make it Through the Night” and Reba McEntire tackled the classic Kristofferson hit “Me and Bobby McGee.” And songwriters (and husband and wife) Jon Randall and Jessi Alexander opened the show with the only song of the night that wasn’t written by Kristofferson, instead it was named for him.
