“Bathroom acoustics are the best.” Almost every singer we talk to has uttered those words at least once in their life.
In a voyeuristic video posted to her Instagram, Danielle showed off those acoustics by performing her song “Worth It” in a bathroom as we sit back and peek in.
In the black and white video, Danielle, dressed in t-shirt and bandana, stands alone by a bathroom sink surrounded by a coffee cup, phone and headphones and just goes to town. Danielle’s powerful vocals are just accentuated by the acoustics of the bathroom walls. Trust that the average person won’t sound like that while in their bathroom with the acoustics alone. She’s the real deal folks. If these vocals can’t garner a female artist of the year nomination, country music is doing something wrong.
The new single, featured on Danielle’s current album I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, is abou knowing that you are worth it and not being afraid to walk away from a situation where you are not valued. It took Danielle a little time to figure this out about herself, before putting pen to paper.
“‘Worth It’ was written on a day I was thinking about things—just life,” Danielle told One Country about writing the song. “As a shy person, I’m better at it now but I was very, very shy, you can have a hard time speaking up for yourself in certain situations. So, that day I wrote it, I was feeling a little stand up for myself more, whether it was in a relationship or business. I expressed that to my co-writers and the song came natural.”
