For the third year, CBS Radio hosted its annual Stars and Strings concert, which brings together some of country music’s biggest and brightest stars to celebrate our nation’s military heroes and their families. Proceeds from the show went to Folds of Honor, which provides educational support to the spouses and children of our fallen and injured soldiers.
This year, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker were two of the artists on the bill for the acoustic, writer’s round type evening. Darius and Lady A go way back, so their set was particularly fun.
First off, Darius has one of the most underrated voices in music. Second, Darius and Charles Kelley are legitimately best friends, so anytime they are on stage together our ears are in for a real treat.
Darius took lead vocals on Lady Antebellum’s biggest hit ever, “Need You Now,” before being joined by Charles. The pair knew they nailed it and gave each other a high-five while still singing.
Then, Lady A joined Darius on his hit, “Wagon Wheel.” They were also on the album version of this one.
And finally, Darius showed off those vocals by himself on his latest No. 1 single, “What If I Told You.” Hillary Scott literally looks at him in awe before mouthing along with him on the tune.
