“The Voice” Season 15 Live Finals continued last night with the Top 10 hopefuls giving their best country performances to guarantee their stay. Blake Shelton saw star power in his contestant, Dave Fenley, who gave a mesmerizing cover of Keith Whitley’s 1998 classic “When You Say Nothing at All.”
Dave confidently took center stage with his trusty acoustic guitar as he belted the Whitley hit. Soaring fiddle accompaniment and steel guitar fleshed out the traditional number. Dave’s vocals shined on the song and he even found a fan in Jennifer Hudson, who admitted that while she doesn’t know much about country music she did enjoy his vocal style.
His soft and velvety vocals entranced on the classic country tune, which no doubt made coach Blake proud. Delicate piano and percussion were also featured, but it was Dave’s memorable vocals that were at the forefront of the performance.
Will Dave make it through the live finals? Fans can tune in tonight to learn which two artists go home after the Instant Save.
Blake treated “The Voice” audience to a performance himself last night. While his three Team Blake contestants, Dave, Kirk Jay, and Chris Kroeze, battled it out in the Live Top 10 episode, Blake gave a sultry performance of his current single “Turnin’ Me On.”
“She’s turning me on, turning me on / Pushing my buttons like it ain’t no thing / If I’m what she wants, she gets what she wants / The neon’s buzzing when she pulls that string / Turning me on like it’s her job / Sometimes I think she must get off on / Turning me on, turning me on,” he sings in the chorus.
