Somehow, David Nail is still one of Nashville’s best kept secrets. But, as his current single, “Night’s On Fire” moves up the charts, the super-talented vocalist and brand new dad to twins, won’t be under the radar for much longer, especially when fans hear his new work from
Fighter, due out July 15.

Nail’s preview of the eclectic and collaborative-heavy disc starts off with a bang, or yet several bangs in the form of hand claps from labelmates, the Brothers Osborne on the track, “Good at Tonight.” The Brothers co-wrote the tune with Troy Verges and Barry Dean and it kind of sounds like Nail teamed up with Mumford and Sons.

Nail leads off the track and by the time John and TJ add their harmonies, you’re in. It’s an uptempo, raucous good time tune that throws caution to the wind and reminds everyone to focus on the present.

And yes, part of the somewhat cheesy Bil Keane quote, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present” is part of the song. But, with these three singing it we’ll all start looking at those needlepoints on our grandmother’s wall a little different tomorrow.
