For the past few years, David Nail has been candid about his struggle with depression and anxiety.

In 2014 he revealed his “secret” to Rolling Stone, saying, “Genetically, my entire life, I’ve been starting out in the negative. But with the help of medication and with the help of counseling, I learned to feel like I didn’t have to cure all my problems and had to be perfect all the time.”

A few days ago, David took to his own social media to express some thoughts and feelings about his struggle. And he perfectly described what depression does to a person who is suffering:

At the same time, though, he ended with a message of hope. If you’re currently suffering, there are people who are willing to help.
