Dean Dillon is one the most prolific songwriters in the history, as the man behind many of George Strait’s biggest hits– “The Chair” and “Ocean Front Property” to name two.

He also wrote the hit, “Tennessee Whiskey,” which has experienced new life with Chris Stapleton’s 2015 version off his album, Traveller. And because we’ll never truly understand how awards show voting works, Dillon was on hand at the 52nd Annual ACM Awards as a Song of the Year nominee for “Tennessee Whiskey.”

We caught up with Dillon on the red carpet at the ACM Awards and he told us all the country music singers he keeps tabs on, which means– you should probably be keeping tabs on them too.

William Michael Morgan, Jon Pardi, keeping tabs on Lee Brice…he’s still rolling along pretty good. I’m privileged to work with Sundance Head some. I keep tabs on them,” he said.
